FAU BSN 2013-Traditional or Accelerated

Anyone out there that is applying to start the FAU Nursing program in May 2013? I have submitted my application for the accelerated program. It is the only program I am applying for so I am really hoping to receive an acceptance letter! I realize it will be quite some time until we know either way and thought we could get some conversation going among applicants.

Second chances would be amazing... Although I have already begun pursuing my back up options ... My heart was really set on fau ... After all my research and touring the others just don't compare. Best of luck to everyone!

Hey guys. I haven't heard anything yet, I'm freaking out!!! I read all the posts and the gpas of some of the people who got denied are much higher than mine which is scaring me even more! Unfortunately I don't agree with bfab when you said the people who got denied might be given second chances because like mrslucky, most people have backup options or are looking for other schools already. Did anyone else out there still not hear anything??

I am confused as well... I was in the group of people who got denied for a reason that was "inconclusive" and simply a result of lack of space. When I read the email I thought... why am I not being wait listed? what am I supposed to do? etc...

Does FAU have a wait list? Will some of us who have been denied get a second chance?

I want to do international nursing and FAU's program really appeals to me. I am so disappointed, and feeling slightly discouraged. But like everyone else.... I will keep on keeping on. Apply apply apply.

We do everything we are told to do, and not getting into Florida Public Schools because there is no space. I got rejected from UNF, UCF, and FAU. I got wait listed at UF, waiting to hear from FSU, applying to USF for the Fall... if all else fails I'm applying to out of state spring programs.

I just have to say how EXCITED I am! I cannot wait to meet everyone at orientation and to begin the program! :)

I am also really excited cml12 :) I found out last Wednesday that I was admitted to the accelerated program...I can't wait to meet everyone at orientation!

Hello all!! I'm Lindsay and I've been accepted to the accelerated program. Received my acceptance back in Feb, but just found this thread today. Feeling very fortunate, as it looks like it was a competitive group of applicants.. Definitely looking forward to the next 15 months, can't wait to meet everyone!!

Hello all, I applied for the accelerated program and was declined. I was wondering what everyones TEAS scores and GPA were? I felt like mine were competitive but I was denied...

Hi Lindsay :)

Kalbers, if you read thru the thread you can see what everyone's scores are. In a post from the Associate Dean of the program, she mentions that a majority of the applicants were not prepared for admission. I take this as meaning they did not have all the prerequisite coursework completed. Did the school site a reason for denial in your email? Some applicants in this thread got denied with pretty exceptional credentials.

3.2 UG GPA

4.0 Science GPA

93.4 TEAS = 99%
