FAU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Hello everyone!

I’ve been following forums on all nurses for a while now! I noticed that FAU didn’t have a forum for its full time accelerated program (if there is one please link below)! I applied before the deadline, but due to the corona virus they pushed back the invites to interviews. I hope to hear from them soon. Has anyone else applied to the program?

Are they considering to push back fall applicants to Spring? I emailed an adviser about recent news, but I got no response.

That’s something I really don’t know. It’s kind of hard to tell right now what’s going to happen a month from now. I’ve been contemplating on whether to even go next fall because the whole situation with the coronavirus and the fact that the first semester is usually the hardest to adapt to. What about you?

I really don’t know. I only applied to FIU...I’m extremely nervous because my GPA isn’t that competitive, and the virus will cause a lot of change.

I wouldn’t be too nervous it’s just a number and says nothing about who you are. Just make sure you come across well and genuine on the video essay. Also I don’t know if you’re familiar but FIU has a point system when it comes to deciding on who to admit to their program.

Yeah I’m somewhat familiar with it. So pretty much you get a certain amount of points for each criteria.

Ex.

2 points for prior military service

5 points for video essay

3 points for GPA

5 points for TEAS

Sorry I don’t really remember the exact point system. You can call FIU to talk to an advisor and they would be able to tell you more about it.

Thank you for taking the time out to respond. I had asked an advisor about it, and he told me that he couldn't share the points system.
