FAU Accelerated BSN 2010 - questions

U.S.A. Florida

Hello, I don't know if there is already a thread for those applying for FAU ABSN May 2010. I just completed my application! Does anyone know if they invite you in for an interview? I know the deadline is the end of Nov, does anyone know when they typically let people know if they got in? I didn't see any letters of recommendation required - I didn't miss that, did I? Hoping to get in. Just have to finish the rest of my prerequisites and cross my fingers.

I Just Took my Test too now begin to hold my breath? Does anyone know the Numbers they might be looking for? and if the pay more attention to the cummulative average of the HESI than the individual parts >?

These are good questions. I have been wondering the same things myself. I know they say at least 80 on each section, but I wish I knew the score range of the applicants they typically accept.

Have you heard any updates about when they are going to send the e-mails with the decision letters?

Hello lmaria3,

I noticed that the FAU website now states that decision letters will be mailed out by March 31st. In the original email I received from FAU it stated we would have a decision by the end of February, so I am hoping the date on the website is not correct. I can't recall if this was always the date on the website, or if they changed it.

I know they sent decision letters my the mid of February last year. I wish they could send us decission letters before that. I was accepted to UM and I need to send a non refundable deposit. I would like to know if I am accepted or not before sending the deposit. I guess I just send the deposit. FAU is my first option due to cost and proximity, but I am happy that I have the option of going to UM. I have heard FAU is extremely competitive. Let's wait for the best. Good luck to you! Please, keep me posted if you hear from them. Thanks!

Congrats on your acceptance to UM! I thought about applying there, but I decided to just stick to applying to state schools because of the price tag. I applied to UCF and FAU, and I am working on my application for USF.

In looking at my HESI report generated by Evolve, it had the average HESI test score of the applicants for FAU listed at 88% overall. It seems like most applicants did pretty well on the HESI.

My HESI score is 88.7%. I have the feeling since most of the people did well on the HESI, they will focus on GPA's. I have heard that normally they give more weight to GPA's anyway.

Do you know if FAU strictly only considers the bachelor's degree GPA? I have a very high GPA in just my bachelor's degree, but I completed my AA degree at a community college, so my bachelor's GPA does not include all my grades. My GPA was a little lower for my lower division courses, and it brings my cumulative GPA down a bit. However, my cumulative GPA isn't listed anywhere on my university transcripts, only the university GPA is provided. FAU is going to see all my grades overall, but they aren't going to have an overall GPA to work with. I just wish I knew more about everything they take into consideration.

What I have heard is that they just consider your bachelor's GPA.
