FAU Accelerated BSN Fall 2019

I submitted my application for the accelerated BSN program for this fall. Applications are due March 15. Anyone else who applied please comment so we can show support for each other!

Hey!

Mid you are currently a student at FAU then that is probably why you didn’t get in. They are looking for people who already graduated. I applied last year before I graduated and got denied also. I graduated in December and then applied again and got invited for an interview. Just give it time!

Sometimes I feel like some FL state schools are less likely to accept current students for ABSN, which makes no sense to me but whatever. FIU is like this with their ABSN. My friend graduated there with a biology degree 3.9 overall GPA and was a TA and tutor. And had a 4.0 GPA in pre-reqs. Also like 90-something percentile in her TEAS. Not even an interview lol I don't get it.

I got my rejection letter last night lol. I would consider the part-time but the Davie campus is too far. I'm already like 45 min north of the Boca one.

I live in Palm Beach County and I’m still considering it. It only meets Wednesday nights for class and Saturdays for clinical. No GPA requirement. If you can’t go on Wednesdays, the class is also live-streamed and recorded.

oh wow really? So the rest of the class lectures are online? That actually is a very good option! I have a 2 year old so the less I have to commute the better lol!

It stated on their website that even if your a Florida resident, they still charge everyone out of state fees. Did they say why at the information session?

Oh wow. Even though I've had all pre-reqs done for awhile? I'm only a current student because I have to complete the 2nd semester of a foreign language to get my degree next month, I'm not taking any other classes. I'm surprised to hear that would affect acceptance.

Wow, that's ridiculous! She should've definitely gotten in lol. I'm honestly shocked that it affects one's chances of acceptance when they state on the website that pre-reqs just need to be done by a certain date.

Yes, rest of the lectures are online. I think there’s another info session this weekend in case you want to check it out.
