I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.
I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.
Everyone I've talked to has their schedules. You have to check MyFAU under Self Service > Registration. As for the books, the ATI books are completely separate than the textbooks for our classes. The ATI books are used to prepare for the NCLEX, while our textbooks are used for each class. Two completely different sets. Check the syllabi for the books you will need.
I don't know if this thread is still active but if anyone gets to see this: hello! Starting Fall 2014, I will be a sophomore and I'm going to apply for the nursing program. I know this is for the accelerated track and I'm probably going to go with the traditional track, but I have a few questions for those who got accepted. Did any of you have previous working experience at a hospital or just some sort of clinical experience in general? Does having it sort of boost your chances of getting in? Needless to say, I don't have that kind of experience but I do work... Unfortunately, my work doesn't exactly relate to nursing whatsoever.
I went through the this topic and I was surprised to see users who didn't receive interview invites despite having fantastic GPAs and TEAS scores. I know its still too early to be worrying about applications but I am.

Thanks! I will also buy the ones that I deem necessary.
