Yet another Chiro looking at NP programs. I am looking for online programs. I do not have a ASN OR RN YET. I have a DC degree. I did bypass a bachelors and finished in 4 in a half years.....been practicing for a while now...but want to expand my capacity to help others.
Are there fast track programs that would take the DC...? Could anyone recommend the fastest way to NP or DNP? (Online)....DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A ONLINE ASN? DO YOU HAVE TO GET THE ASN FIRST or is ther direct entry for BSN?
Wow...I hope someone can help me....
I want to get the NP in the least amount of time and of course the least amount of money....
Thanks to anyone kind enough to help..
Best wishes..

You are pretty much stuck doing at least your RN in person. I think your best bet would be to find an ABSN program that will accept your DC degree. Once you have your RN there are plenty of online NP programs. Alternatively, you could do an LPN program pretty quick (in person again) and then do an LPN to BSN bridge program online, followed by an online NP program. That would take longer though. I'm pretty sure you are going to have to commit at least 12 months as a full time, in person, student.

Dr. Mark...have you checked out the DC-NP program listed in your chiro magazines? My husband is a chiro and thought about it until he saw what I am going through doing my RN-BSN bridge and now my FNP online. As he puts it...nurses don't think like docs! That said, we have several chiro friends who have done the program and actually don't feel it made a difference. Good luck!
There really is a DC to NP program? Now I've heard everything :)

I'm fairly certain you won't find an online NP program unless you already have an ASN. Even though you're a chiro, you don't possess nursing skills that you'll neeed for the NP program. Why don't you consider going to PA school? Should just be a 2 year in-residence master's program?
Good luck to you.

The RN portion of your education is going to have to be done in person - unless there is some crazy program out there I've never heard of - because you have to do supervised clinicals in at an accredited school of nursing so you can sit for the NCLEX.
The fastest way I found to accomplish this, after having been a Certified Medical Assistant for 17 years, was to do the BSN in one year at Vanderbilt and then I was able to complete the NP portion of the program as a hybrid of online and live lectures combined with clinical experiences I arranged in my home town.

There are several ABSN programs around the country that can be done in 12 months. And then there are some full-time NP programs that can be completed in 5 semesters. I think that would be the fastest. Not necessarily the cheapest tho.
Thanks, guy....I am looking at a Tech School....2year ASN.....they accept all my DC classes.....I was wondering if there was something faster to get the RN....Thanks for your information...best wishes with all your work and studies...
Wow....thats sad...what program is in the mags....MidAmerican? I am not interested in that...cant afford to go to dallas once a month....I hope to leave chiro....if the practice does not build with the FNP....I am pretty connected to my county and think it would asset us greatly....but God only knows....sorry to hear about your friends...maybe they can work with the new degree and make a better living...Best of Luck
That I have considered...PA.....should have done it years ago...thanks
NIce!
Could you list those schools? Thank you all so much!
