Fall 2018 University of Memphis LCON(Loewenberg College of Nursing)

Hi I am a sophomore at The University of Memphis and I have recently applied to Loewenberg. I have completed all of my prereqs accept microbiology which I am taking this coming Spring'18. For A&PI I made a B in the lecture and an A in the lab. For part 2, I made a C in the lecture and a B in the lab. I'm really disappointed because this is the first C I've made in college and I understand that LCON is very competitive. I have a high GPA but the C lowered it to a 3.5. I originally had a 3.7. I plan on taking A&PII online in the Spring to get a better a grade. I'm extremely nervous that I won't get accepted because of the C. I was told that we may hear a decision at the end of the Spring semseter but I was unsure how true this is. I noticed the ones who applied for the Spring'18 got their decision in the middle of the semester. I would appreciate any advice.

Has anyone heard anything yet?

I have not heard anything yet. I am thinking it probably wont be until closer to the end of the month.

My advisor stated that they're are going to inform us by the 1st of April, right before registration.

Thank you. I recently got accepted into baptist but memphis is my first choice. Im hoping to hear something before i go to orientation for baptist.

I'm in the same boat as you. I got accepted into Baptist but would rather go to Memphis. Baptist makes you take unnecessary classes

Yes i agree they are very unnecessary. This will be my second time for memphis and I dont want to have to sit a semester out doing nothing.

I can relate, I applied for the spring term but was taking my last prerequisite. So praying I won't have to sit out as well. And I am eligible for Baptist's direct entry because of my gpa, but I don't want to attend their program. Best of luck!

You're not alone, I was emailed numerous times asking me to complete their application process. And because I have read so many stories about students experience at Baptist, I chose to just wait for Memphis. Best of luck!

3.3 or higher with Sciences being 3.0 or higher.

I just called up there and they said there is no direct entry. So idk what's up with that. But congrats to you cause I'd love to not have to take those extra classes
