Hey Maria! I'm excited

You all should check your emails! I got an invitation to interview with admissions not too long ago and signed up!

Thank you! I just received the email too and signed up for an interview!

Also, I'm not sure if everyone here went to the Mock Interview but they said that it's a group interview of about 3-5 people and it's approximately 30-35 minutes but allot 1 hr for it just in case. ?

hi yall! I also applied for the 2021 cohort, glad there is a thread already :) I wish everyone luck.

The interviews will be group interviews even for the official one?

Thanks for joining this discussion! And yup, the actual interviews are group interviews as well. Good luck everyone! We got this!

Hi everyone! I just found this forum and was wondering if anyone has had experience with group interviews? If so, do you have any advice on what to expect with them?

Thanks in advance!

I've had experiences with group interviews back in college for organizations. I can only remember interviewing with a group for job once but it was extremely informal. When I attended the mock interview we were told that it's okay to have similar answers to other people but make sure to make it more personal towards you and always relate it back to nursing. Be mindful of time since there might be 3 to 5 people in the interview and there's only 30 minutes for the interviewers to get to know all of us. Be straight and concise with your answer. I'm at work right now and I do not have all of my notes with me from the mock interview. But I will post another response once I'm home ?

Of course ? So they showed us a word document that states:

Interview questions will vary and may cover many topics, but you should be prepared to talk about:

  4. What you have done to prepare to be a successful nursing student
  5. Qualities must you have to become an excellent compassionate nurse

From here on, it's going to be my notes ?

Keys to prepare:

  1. Practice a 1-minute commercial (highlight career/education background); be ready w/ an example; always link back to nursing

  3. Research the CON website
  4. Review commonly asked interview questions

8. Approximately 4-5 questions in 30 minutes

9. Wear something professional/business casual

Other notes:

  • Your interviewer possible didn't go through your application, it might be advantageous to talk about what you talked about on your application
  • Don't get psyched out by other people's answers
  • If question is 2 parts make sure sure to answer both
  • Use lamp if your room where you're gonna be in during the interview is dark
  • It is OKAY to ask for clarity

These are all the notes that I have from the mock interview ? I may have missed some while I was trying to catch up with what they were saying. If anyone has anything to add please do. Thank you! Hopefully it helps ? Good luck!
