Fall 2015 Transfer NYU Nursing

Published

Hey, I just applied to the NYU BSN program as a transfer for Fall 2015. I see all these threads for the ABSN program, but none for the regular BSN program. I just want to know if anyone else is in the same boat. Thanks

Where do you see NYU classes? On Albert? Or somewhere else?

I just Google NYU classes and was able to see my profile but I didn't hear anything from them yet, I don't know if it means anything. I hope it do!!

Saw the same.

Thank you for the reply.

I was pulling my hair out trying to find what everyone was looking at.

:-/

I saw my profile and preferences, but no way to actually enroll in classes.

Email on Albert states " unavailable"

I was really thinking we were going to hear something on national nurse day.

Haha

The NYU website states our acceptance / decline of any offer will appear on Albert under application status.

So nervous.

I really want to call but you know they are probably being slammed with people calling.

Gab, check all your email boxes. They should have sent a letter on how to set up a NETID.

Oh waiting is killing us..... Any news?

For fall transfers (4 yrs) I was told we get our notifications starting the end of may towards the middle of june so we still have a bit of waiting to do. If you're applying for ABSN I think your notifications have been going out and will end next week (from what I've read). Best of luck to everyone!

Curious as to why we are the last people to get any acceptances..

Seems like we get the worst end of the stick.

I guess that's why people say they are really tough of transfer students.

The guy on the phone did tell me transfer students find out after the 15th of May.

Any time I call they give me different reasons. I don't who to believe

any way let's wait.

Good thing comes to the people who wait long.

Do do you have any clue how many transefer student has applied this year?

The reality is we're competing with students applying straight out of High School since they too are going for a BSN. But NYU is still interested in transfer BSN students because they purposely set up a NYUCN info booth last month in my college's lobby trying to recruit potential applicants. I asked the NYUCN rep at the booth and she told me acceptances for transfers are sent out specifically at the end of may to the mid of June. Which leads me to say it's best not to speculate on how many people applied, what % got in last year, what their scores were, etc. In the end the rep told me all that matters is your essay and holistic background. If you did plently of volunteer work associated with med fields and have a good gpa then you're the type of applicant they look for.

Also, It's not a good idea to compare ourselves (as bsn transfers) to the people in the ABSN thread because those people already have a 4 year degree, most of them older than us and therefore have more experience in the med field. NYU factors this in when choosing them. But for us, they recognize that some of us are attending 2 yr colleges or 4 yrs straight out of H.S and only have gpa's and limited experience.

Ah, that's good.

I barely had enough time to do much volunteer work and I didn't have a car while I was away at my old school.

I could only do a little bit of hours. hopefully my essay was good enough, lol.

thanks for the tip! I wish I would've known this a long time ago.

I need someone to read my essay ahhaahaha I'm worried about it.

Did anyone send them an updated transcript?

Or is everyone waiting to see if they got in first?

Still waiting my school did not end yet
