Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!
Quantitative titers that need to be administered within the past 3 years:
-MMR
-Varicella
-Hep B (this should already be completed for application purposes)
***Those all need to be positive***
-Hep C titer (does not need to be quantitative, needs to be within the past 3 years and this one needs to be negative)
Then you'll need:
- 1-step TB skin test (results need to be negative)
-TDaP Vaccine (administered within the past 8 years)
**A flu shot (I'd hold off on this because this one was confusing because it said it needed to be after August 1st)
**Physical exam (has to be less than a year old when its turned in, also they give you a form to complete with it so maybe hold off on this one as well)
-CPR certification (I think these stay good for about a year and each year you have to renew)
In addition you'll have to print, fill out, then scan and submit about 7 forms on the website that everything gets turned into. The forms are very quick and easy to fill out and can be done within an hour max. You'll be required to do a background check and social security verification (super simple but these take the most time so once they give out website info id get on top of this task ASAP) but this has to be done through the website as well. Lastly you'll have to be able to provide proof of health insurance. If you don't have any they will tell you to get academic blue insurance for students. It's expensive and they require you to pay in full, no installment plans. So if you don't have insurance then id take a look at that and get prepared. If you need more info let me know!
