Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!
Quite a bit! Fingerprint, SS verification, background check, CPR cert, H/P from HC provider, Immunization records, if not, proof of titers or boosters, some bloodwork, TB test, proof of medical insurance(you will have purchase if you don’t have). They are giving us a little over 2 months to get everything required.

Does anyone else plan to sit for the CNA exam after the first semester? I definitely want to try to work at least once a week during school and maybe a bit more during the Summer. Hoping for a hospital position but would take a Skilled Nursing Facility if need be.
Also, what are yall's plans after your ADN? I'm assuming most of us will go for our BSN since it's being pushed so hard by the nursing community. Anyone looking to continue education after their BSN? Or wanna share their specialty of choice if they already have one in mind? I'm personally thinking Perioperative or ICU.

I plan to pursue my BSN after graduation, but don't know where yet. Many employers in Houston are paying for their AAS RNs to complete their BSNs, so I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I plan to specialize in Psych nursing or maybe labor and delivery/NICU nursing. Perioperative sounds exciting! My sister is an ICU nurse and personally loves it. My other sister is an ER APRN and says that there's a place for everyone and there's flexibility if you decide you want to explore your options. I like that Nursing is an adventurous profession with such a wide array of specialties. We will never be bored or unnecessary. Best of success, everyone.
Time is going by so slow for me! Mainly because I'm so worried I did the application part wrong. Reading past posts of students not submitting something right and only figuring it out once the apps have been approved. I somehow did submit my HS diploma twice so it had kicked my ferpa out!. And I know I scanned then submitted. I did get an email telling me so I did re submit and no email yet. So fingers crossed that it went thru good this time.

What all has to be done and turned in after acceptance and how long do they give you to turn everything in once you’re notified? Thanks in advance for the help! Want to start preparing for as much as I can
