Fall 2018 Lone Star Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone, just wanted to start a Fall 2018 page for Lone Star ADN/LVN future students!

Just wondering rslorificen, how did you study for your critical thinking. I scored low and would take any advice to understand the process.

Moniq07, the critical thinking part was the scariest for me bc I didn't know how to study for it. I went to youtube and searched nurse critical thinking so I could get an idea of what it meant exactly for a nurse to think critically. One main take away that I got was you need to think like a nurse, not a doctor. What would a nurse do? Not what would a Dr. do. Nurses cannot prescribe medications or make diagnoses like a Dr. can. There are no wrong answers just best answers. Always think of the ABC's. Airway (most important), Breathing and then circulation. What is the most important symptom to treat first? That's all I can really remember. It's mostly common sense if you think of it from a nursing perspective. Definitely you tube some critical thinking nurse stuff. ;) Good luck!

Thanks a lot rslorificen!!(: will be doing some research.

Hey... Does anyone know anything about how to upload multiple form for Hep B.

I went and got my initial titer that was negative because i couldn't remember if i had the Hep B series before. I did complete the series of three after the negative titer and got a new titer that shows i am immune with my level and everything. However, it will only let me upload one document for that section.

Also, Does anyone know what the cutoff was last app period for the Montgomery campus?

Thanks everyone!

Try to add all the files into one pdf. I used my office word to email my self any form that I needed in pdf form. I hope that works..

@MaciGWallin If you have a recent titer thats positive then just turn that in by itself. You don't need multi documents unless your still negative.

Can it be April already?

Do you think it will be the end of April? I'm so excited/nervous!!

I hope at the beginning because I don't want wait any longer lol. I applied a week ago. Good luck to everyone!

I was looking back at last years hopefull page and it seemed as if everyone who was accepted found out around April 16/17.

I hope it will be sooner but I heard Montgomery takes the longest to send there Acceptance letters out

Good luck everyone! I remember being in yalls spot last year and the wait was the worst. I'm currently in my second semester at NH. Just use this time to look up ways to be successful in nursing school or do things you love doing now cuz once you are in its fast paced! Good luck!
