Fall 2020 El Centro Nursing Program Applicants

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to start a new thread for Fall 2020 applicants at El Centro, since I didn't find one already here. Let's see if we can help eachother out and answer some questions for eachother. Currently, I have 35 points, but will be applying with about 40, I believe. I'm wondering if that is competitive? Also, I need to get my physical, titers, and vaccines, but don't have health insurance. Any ideas where I can get them done at a decent price? I found a website but I am not sure if they will accept stuff from there....

I did not know that we would be emailed our official standing with points, if so, when would we get them?

I believe we do. I'm just not sure when it comes.

Yes, you will when your letters come out! It will have an attachment of all of the courses you taken and your cumulative HESI score. It will tell you the amount of points you had as well.

Thank you for this! I was sitting here like, "Now I know they will send us a letter with our official points" lol

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO TURN IN APPS FOR FALL 2020 AT EL CENTRO/NORTH LAKE! I am super nervous BUT hopeful that those who are on here will get accepted with me. After today, the wait truly begins...here we go!

hey!

im knew to this site. question!

i looked at my castle branch account and it has overdue. any one elses like that?? mine says for the flu, howver i know we don't have to get it yet until september. i wonder if they''ll review my app with my status saying overdue

**also wanted to wish everyone luck!

Welcome to allnurses.com! I would call and send an email to them about it. they know that flu shots for next flu season haven't started yet so they may overlook that for right now but definitely contact them about it.

When I went to turn mine in on January 14th, I asked a lady in the office and she said last year's flu shot shouldnt be approved. So, if the flu shot was approved , you probably submitted it last year or you started your Castlebranch thing before this application cycle. But it specifically states that it has to be a shot from after September or something like that. I am not compliant but the lady said that was fine. Fingers crossed that was true! If someone else hears some other info, let us know! This forum has been so helpful for me. Thank you to all of yall for the questions and answers!!!! ?

Ah, I see. Yeah that flu shot requirement is tricky for many nursing programs. Yes, I got my flu shot in October from my job so I did get it last year. I think the reason why she said don't worry too much about it is because everybody will have to be compliant before we start clinicals anyway, so it will probably be enforced at that time.

Does anyone know how many people applied? And i was looking at last application cycle’s thread and I saw they got emails instead of actual mail. Does anyone know anything about this application cycle?
