Is anyone applying to cal state east bay this fall for fall 2017 ???! nursing program

Does anyone have experience with the current nursing program at CSUEB, pros and cons ? Much appreciated

Alongside the extra year, the summers are also mandatory.

That means that it will be three years with no summers off.

However, CSUEB has a preceptorship included in the program alongside clinicals, which SF state doesn't have (it only has clinicals).

CSUEB also has a high NCLEX passing rate.

I am so nervous... I feel like my stats aren't as good as everyone else..

Overall GPA: 3.63

TEAS: 76.3%

Hey!

Since we had a new TEAS this year they expect the TEAS scores to be lower than average. However, almost all the students accepted into the CSUEB program have advanced teas scores or higher.

However, many people that are waitlisted are accepted into the program, so don't lose hope if you do get waitlisted.

It is a competitive program so it's important that you have a back up plan even if you believe you will get into the program.

I'm also a native student so maybe we'll see each other in fall!

All the best!

Like SIMSIM3 said, make sure you have a plan B. I hope you applied to more programs than just CSUEB.

Has anyone seen that CSUEB is starting in 2018 to accept students for Concord campus in spring and Hayward campus in fall?? I wonder, will this have any effect for us that want Concord campus to start this fall??

Yes! In 2018 concord campus will become a spring program.

If you check the CSUEB Nursing roadmaps, you'll see that for those who get accepted this year, the program will be three years INCLUDING summers (for both concord and hayward).

The semester switch is what is altering the program for our group but the spring program should not affect us.

So, not only will students admitted fall 17 have a longer program than any other years, but we need to take about 20 more units too??? I'm calling today to see if they will clarify.

Yeah, that seems the case

Sounds like it's a possibility we may graduate a bit earlier than the road map says. She said fall 17 admitted students are the most effected by the semester transition too. No matter how the program goes, CSUEB is still my first choice and I will be SO SO happy to get in!!

Hey!

Why do you think we might graduate earlier that the roadmap? I'm just wondering

The person who I talked to in the nursing department said it MIGHT work out that we finish sooner. I don't think they are quite sure exactly how this will work out for the 2017 class during the conversion. She just promised me that we would have all the classes we need to graduate and pass the NCLEX. I still am not quite sure why we are taking so many more units, I guess something to do with the way credits are calculated by quarter and semester, it adds up that way. If someone could clarify, I would like to know how it does!!

has anybody got an acceptance letter yet?
