Fall 2020 College of the Desert

Hi All! ?

I just wanted to start a thread for those trying to apply to College of the Desert for Fall 2020. At this point, all that's left for me is to take the TEAS, double check that my science classes will be accepted and that they'll accept my communications class. I'm nervous and excited all at once! Any tips or advice people have heard about the program? Any other random information or tid bits that people know about the program is welcome too! ?

Hey all!!

I am currently an N3 student at COD.
I just wanted to pop on here and wish you all luck! I remember being so anxious waiting for the acceptance/denial email! Y’all got this!

Anyways, I know this coming semester will be quite different then most (because we may not be able to enter campus), but I wanted to give you guys a heads up on black pants for the lab/community uniform.
You will need black pants (not yoga pants, not leggings, and not ripped up jeans) to wear with your khaki top. While at Costco yesterday I ran across black stretch pants for $4.97 !! ITS A STEAL! I bought my black pants from there when I started and they are the most comfortable! Just make sure they are not too tight (unprofessional, like leggings). Just wanted to give you guys a heads up! I know the upfront expenses can be a bit much for some people. I would say 2 pairs is enough! At least to start with!

I also have PDF of most of the books, if PDFs are your thing! I def think it makes it easier to search for stuff!

They sent out an email this morning. ALL nursing programs have been "paused" for fall 2020.

I’m in tears right now. All the hard work and tears just for them to “pause” and not even consider us for admission into Spring 2021 is extremely upsetting ?

I completely agree! I am so disappointed that they made us wait this long for nothing! I am sad that so many other schools decided to continue the nursing programs but cod did not!

My friend and I said the same thing. It sounds so heartless. Shes sending an email back to them petitioning for a better resolution other than wasting the last 5 months of waiting for nothing.

Exactly! At least we should get special consideration. Now, we have no guarantee that we’ll even be admitted into Spring 2021
