Fall 11' anyone applied to APU, MSMC, CSULA, CSUSB nursing?

U.S.A. California

I applied to Azusa Pacific, Mount Saint Mary's College, CSULA, CSUSB nursing for Fall 2011.

I got into Azusa Pacific, CSULA, CSUSB (the school) and am waiting for nursing to contact me.

I didnt hear anything from Mount Saint Mary's College... When I go on their website it's processing as of 2/14/11.

Anyone wants to share their stories on any of these schools?:)

I am not an applicant (yet) I am at citrus college taking micro and physio right now. I plan to apply to CSULA this november and CSULB and CSUSB this coming jan.

How has the process been for the schools? I know APU is not taking transfers into the nursing program. I wonder if you have the req done and apply for spring and then attended a semester THAN apply to there program? I don't know. I know o-chem and anatomy is a pre req but its private so I don't know what constitutes as a o-chem that will transfer?

As for msmc I have no idea. I wouldn't apply there, too many pre reqs (where are you doing your pre reqs at?)

As for CSULB, very good nursing school, and very competitive. I know the cut off for points is around 8.9 at the minimum.

CSULA, again competitive, but you can get "sneaky" and get points from non-academia stuff like healthcare experience or healthcare volunteering....same with CSUSB as far as they know and CSUSB is the only of the cal states that take letters of rec...

How has the process been to you?

For someone like me who isn't applying for a long time...I know a lot based on this website as well as a bunch of research on the schools website as well.

I just rather know what I am in for.

Good luck

Helloo

I am doing my pre req at El Camino College. I am taking micro currently and that's the last pre req for me.

About Azusa nursing, I actually got accepted 3 days ago. It says I am in the nursing program and will be graduating in December 2014.

I also got into Biola for pre clinical nursing last week, but their requirement is that I have to be a Biola student for at least 2 years, so it will be another 5 years for BS nursing...so I dont know about that.

If you can apply to CSULA and CSULB, you are pretty much done with all the pre req for MSMC.

just finished all my prereps and I really want to go to CSUSB any tips on how to get in. if you dont mind my asking what is your GPA and/or TEAS test score. I am going to apply other school but as far as location is concerned I would love to get into the palm desert campus.:yeah:

applying to Azusa in the next couple months. do you have to have attended the school before getting accepted to nursing or can anyone can accepted?

You must have gotten into the outlet campus in victorville for apu. The campus in azusa is not taking nursing transfer students. So unless your attending apu and applying then you can't get accepted to their program.

I know that msmc has too many redundant pre reqs and they are not like CSULBs pre reqs..

I would like to know more info about CSUSB but no one on here has any info for them. I am actually applying to CSULB this august but as another major. budget cuts are screwing us transfers over

I got into campus in Azusa. I was actually the last cohort for transfers. It's a 3 1/2 year program tho. They say the desert campus is still accepting transfers and it's easier to get in just because its a new program

And Csusb also takes transfers but one down side is that their decision comes in mid July. Pre reqs are quite similar to other schools. It's on their websites with applications

For Csulb they actually dont want you changing to impacted majors from other majors. So unless you are going for second bachelor's degree nursing program where they let you get bsn and msn together, it might be hard to change the major to nursing later...

Actually according to CSULB, you can only attempt to change into a impacted major only once.

Obviously the only way to do that is to apply to the program and by that time I will have the grades needed to get in.

I'll have about 9.35/10 which is darn competitive and above average. So I mean i can re find the link that states that information but its not like this is the only school I am applying to. I am applying to others, this one is just my top choice.

Btw what was the pre reqs for the desert campus? For nursing?
