Hey people! I applied to the ARC and SCC college RN program. Has any one heard back yet? My ARC application changed to a qualified application.
Wow that's so awesome :) nothing for me how is that some ppl get into more then one college, and some ( like me) waited already two years and still nothing waiting for Sierra
I'm so sorry! I really don't know how it happens except random. I'm really sorry you're stuck waiting. I hope you get a YES from Sierra!
And I think I had 77 points.
Congrats MeganMom! Would you highlight some of the reasons why you are choosing SCC over ARC? I got into SCC
Hi Februalis! Congrats to you too!
It was not easy since ARC means starting sooner (SCC is spring for me), but my husband and I agreed that because of things that are going on in our little world right now, a later start date for me will benefit our family. You know, boring adulty type things like work, benefits, money, etc. lol (my husband has been out of work for nearly a nearly a year, so these are some pretty big deals right now!) Additionally I have some responsibilities outside of work and home that I will no longer be able to manage while in nursing school, and a spring start date will allow me to transition more smoothly and finish those things well.
But don't get me wrong: if I had gotten in only for the fall, I would have dropped everything/everyone in a hot minute and gone for it! haha but this way, I don't have to make that choice.
So, I received my rejection letter for ARC and still hoping for Sierra. But if I don't get into Sierra this time, I'm not sure what to do next , private school was going to be my last choice, but it seems like I don't have many choices
Don't give up! You might get into Sierra. Where else did you apply? Look at the requirements to apply at different schools and start working towards meeting those requirements so that you can apply to more places. Have you thought about working towards another degree as you wait? You could look into something that goes well with nursing. Do you speak another language? Work towards that since that can help you in the future as well.
Have you been applying for a long time? Don't lose hope, it can take time to get accepted.
Thank you for your encouraging response :) I have been applying for two years to the local three schools. Will look into applying to Delta College. Yes I already speak another language and have other medical/ healthcare experience too. But I was actually thinking of something thats kind of like nursing but not as competitive; at the moment can't find anything

Nutrition works with nursing. CSUS also has a Consumer & Family Science degree that I had considered working towards had I not received admission into a nursing program.
Have you looked at Butte, Yuba or Solano? I am not sure how far you would be willing to drive.
I hope this is your year and that you hear back from Sierra!

Thank you! Leaning toward SCC for a plethora of reasons, even though it means starting a little later... Will talk with my husband tonight.
