I'm so depressed. I've read the textbook, take good notes, never missed a class but I am failing in courses. Right now, I am on final probation and this is my third time re-taking Biology 101 and second time taking Psychology 202. I have a feeling that I won't be able to get into Nursing school due to my low GPA. My GPA right now is 0.94. I don't know what to do, I feel like I am not studying the right materials. I don't know if it's because of the university that I went to or what. I went to Technical school and been doing pretty good with a GPA of 3.0. I took Race and Ethnicity and Psychology 250 at the Tech and got a 3.0. I still have others gen-eds that haven't taken yet. Do you think if I work hard, I'll eventually get into nursing schools? And is it still impossible for me to get a 3.5 GPA??? HELP!

You need a counselor first, someone from the academic world who can help you discern why you are not progressing as you would like. If you have a learning disability or some other situation that can be addressed, then you need to work on it first. Right now, I would recommend NOT attempting nursing school courses till you get this resolved. Another option would be to get your CNA certification and learn about the medical field while you try to figure out why you struggle in school. Good luck!

You need to re evaluate the way your are studying. I don't think your are ready to go foward and it will take a long time to upper your GPA. You need to talk to someone ASAP.

There is something going on causing you to fail these courses so many times. I agree with the above posters, you might have a learning disability. It will take you awhile to bring up that GPA, even with those other gen eds.

Think of it this way, most people who enter nursing school with a 4.0 GPA, end up having their GPA drop because of how hard the courses are. DON'T get discouraged. We all go through things in life that we either have to sink or swim. I agree with classicdame. Maybe try getting into a CNA course, GO TO TUTORING, and see a counselor. You can still get in but if you don't make the decision now to make sure you do much better next semester, you will regret it. ALWAYS USE RESOURCES!!!!!! Good luck!
P.S. Before I got in, my GPA was barely at a 2.5. There is still hope for you.

Make the teacher your very best friend. As questions, get advice, and get tips on how to get the most out of their class.

Aside from the excellent advice you've received above to seek out testing, I also suggest that you consider changing your career goals. Honestly, if you can't get through Biology 101, I don't see you being able to get through Anatomy & Physiology. (Unless you do, in fact, have a learning disability of some kind that can be worked around.)
I would recommend that you take aptitude testing offered by your academic advising center to see what careers match up with your talents. Some people are better at certain things than others. I excel at math and language and absolutely detest history. My husband is good at math and history and really sucks at language. It could be that there might be other careers that line up better with your inborn talents, but without taking the tests, you may overlook those opportunities entirely.

Anything can happen, but for now I wouldn't worry about nursing school I'd worry about learning to succeed in college. There's no shame in struggling, but I thnk the best thing for you to do would be to pause and figure out what's going wrong and working on techniques to fix it. Preferably with your school counselor. It's not just about "working hard." It's about learning how to study and take tests. As of now you're just destroying your GPA by doing the same thing over and over again.
