Failing a nursing class

Nursing Students NP Students

Hi guys, I failed in one of the nursing classes in my last semester of an accelerated BSN program. I plan to apply for NP school after my graduation. Currently, I am having a GPA little bit over 3.5 which, I hope, will be maintained after I am done with the program. What do you think how much a failure in BSN will impact my chances for NP school? I am in a state of shock at this time tbh. Serious opinions needed please

I'm surprised you were able to stay in the program. I failed a course in my nursing program and was dismissed. I had to petition for them to reinstate me and I had to retake the course before advancing in the program.

When I graduated the failed class did not impact my gpa.

@Ashley_SF I have to repeat the course to pass the program. I am just asking whether anyone got onto a competitive NP school with a fail in nursing school?

Don't worry about this right now. Pass the course and become an RN. Get some highly relevant experience as an RN to the type of NP you want to be. That will outweigh this blip in school. In computing GPA, if a student fails a class but then repeats it and passes, only the passing grade is calculated into the GPA. Good luck.
