Failed to pass NCLEX the 3rd time....

Published

Hi everyone,I've heard so much about this site and read a lot of the posts here about the people who are having difficulties with their studies and even those about the success that these people have, i just wanted to ask some people there who same as me did not pass yet their NCLEX-RN exam, it already took me 3 tries, first of all i took my first in the Philippines, failed with 75 questions, next when i got here to New York, i took my 2nd one right after i finished the Kaplan Review Center, ended up with another 75 questions but still failed, and my recent one was a few days ago and i had been self studying for a month or so and had 151 questions in total, and yesterday found out that i still failed, its hard to think that all that effort was for nothing, i had a very good feeling while taking my 3rd test and everything felt in place until i found out, now I'm just gonna try again, i heard that its going to take about 45 days before i can take the test in New York State is that right? and can anybody give me some advice on what i should do and things that might help me out on my next try. Thanks, most of the posts i read here are very comforting and i really feel that everyone here understands what the people are going through especially about these NCLEX exams and passing/failing....

I failed in my 2nd attempt. My exam is full of SATAs and drugs side effects. I also encountered labs values in most of the exhibits. I've got 210 questions and time expired. I consumed so much time in the first 75 items. Perhaps if I reached the 265 items, I have pass the NCLEX-RN exam.

Most of my labs value are in G/L unit and I know only the mE/dL unit. Example of this is BUN of 8 G/L. I don't know if it is normal or high or low value. Also, most of my answer choices are in "quotations" in the first 75 items.

Can anyone explain the G/L unit? Is this Gram/Liter? Do i need to convert it to mE/L to equal(jibe) with my known(memorize) values in mE/L?

Sorry to hear your story, but pls don't give up. There's light at the end of the tunnel. You will pass nclex.

I also took it 3 times and i think i passed on the third one. I took it yesterday and I got a good pop up with PVT!! Dont give up!!! and I also agree with LexiJ above with Kaplan. I think Kaplan helps alot. I actually did Kaplan twice. The first time I just did question banks and it happened to be that I was memorizing the answers not critical thinking each time.

The second time I took Kaplan I read the book, reviewed the lecture videos, i did Question trainers twice, reviewed and wrote down rationales.

When answering the questions, try to rationalize each answer choices~ that helped alot to me!!! Dont give up!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on passing the exam I'm happy for you!! and yeah I'm back at studying now and mostly on answering the questions and i will rationalize whenever i answer each of them and Thank You!!

Its no problem failing i already failed a couple of times just gotta get up! and yeah before i got a lot of SATA's too the last one though was a bit different in the questions and that they had another group of questions with the little charts on them kinda putting a lot of information messing with your mind but still i gotta go and try again :specs:
