Hello,
Well I havnt officially failed the first block yet, but Im doomed to fail it again. This is my second time taking block 1 and I am going to fail it again. I can only miss 4 questions on the final which is next tues. If I havnt pulled it off with the other test, I dont believe I will pull it off with this one. Dont get me wrong I am studying extensivley, but it doesnt seem realistic that out of 50 questions for me to miss 4. Like I said this is my second time taking block 1, nursing process, and I just feel like Im an idiot. Maybe Im not smart enough for this. My teacher isnt helping me much with support either. She told me, cause I talked to her today, and she straight out told me, you need to look for a different career cause nursing is not for you . That really put things worst for me. I do want to go into nursing, and things got clarrified that I want to do this when I was in clinicals. Now Im kinda in a stuck situation here, and hoping someone out there can help me out. I am currently taking the nursing program in ****** in Arizona. I was reading the hand book that you are only allowed one re-entry, and once that happens, thats it your not able to go in, and that if you try for a second time, you have to go to the nursing board, see if they will let you in, and according to the teacher that said I need to change careers, is that there is nearly impossible for them to grant me readmission. So thats why I figured I have to look for another county, which Im hoping someone can help me out and let me know where I can go, which is a good school, thats not in ***** county. Im really stressed out right now, and the teacher diddnt make things better, plus that made me pretty mad cause she hasnt seen me in clinicals, I have a different clinical instructor, she dont know what I do in clinicals or dont, all in all we are there to help the patient out, and the patients are always happy with me a greatful that Im there. Can someone help me out, I am hoping that I can get in a new nursing program soon, cause if not, I dont know what Im going to do, go crazy I guess. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

It seems like what you need to do is look for nursing schools in the area in which you're interested and began looking into their application requirements.
Have you taken your final yet?

Oh yeah try to look for a different program if the one you're are going to is not supportive- it seems you really have a passion for nursing.School can be pretty stressful i hope you do have support or have hobbies that help you relax after a long day.Does your instructor offer suggestions on what you can do to improve if so take her suggestions
Also identify areas where you are weak in (subjects ) and if you have supportive classmates you can study together / like my instructor said some are good in class poor in clinicals or vice versa-good thing you do well in clinicals but unfortunately for you to get the licence in the end you have to be balanced.try using different nclex books and work on the questions read the rationales -they really help with the critical thinking part
I wish you all the best-

therealnurse.com, I was wondering if you're done with your school..if so..what school did you attend to continue your nursing education. I failed the last two of my classes due to personal issues (My dad got sick in the midst of everything and it was hard for me to concetrate on my studies). Now, I don't think I can continue my education on the school I'm going to right now since I failed two classes already. What sucks too was I'm on the very last semester of my BSN program and about to graduate. Pls help.. thanks in advance!

if its the nursing board that you will have a problem with, then it sounds like you need change states.....
Nursing boards from my understanding cover states, not individual counties.

I understand that you are upset and emotional, but how can you possibly know that changing schools is going to improve your grades? These "paper and pencil" tests that you take are designed to test your critical thinking skills--something that is very important to being a nurse as well as ultimately passing the NCLEX exam to get a nursing license. Performing in clinical hasn't much to do with getting a license. It is supposed to enhance your learning of classroom material. If that isn't happening, then maybe your instructor is correct in her assessment of you. RNs have to be able to think and make decisions.
You should be able to get a listing of all the approved nursing schools in Arizona at the Arizona State Board of Nursing website. You can link to it from allnurses.
