Failed Nclex Yesterday...Help Me Please

Published

I need some advice because I've tried everything. I've used Hurst, Kaplan, Remar, LaCharity, Nclex 4000. I had 265 questions & I felt like I was doing OK. I had about 13 EKGs 3 pictures, 5 put in order & lost count after 50 Sata. Also had tons of infection control. I just felt so tired. I'm heartbroken & devastated Any advice will be appreciated

Hi 2013rn2BScorpio, you can definitely pass NCLEX. I find that sticking to one resource worked best for me. I passed my NCLEX RN in 75 questions. I purchased the new Saunders NCLEX-RN book which comes with an access code to over 5000 questions. I read the ENTIRE book, yes all 77 chapters and did all questions in the book. I did the assessment test thats on the website which comes with the access code. Its 75 questions and when you're done it gives you a six week study plan. I studied faithfully for 7 weeks. I finished my study plan a week early which allowed me to focus on practice questions. I increased my number of questions each for a week before my exam for example 125, 135, 180, 200, 265. I did not study the day before my exam.

I'm in NJ and I failed my first time back in June. I retook it this January and passed! I was so nervous, crying, hyperventilating. It was nothing that a little xanex and pep talking couldn't handle.. Well maybe more than a little.

But I promise you can do this, I know it is sooo discouraging but you have to remember that you KNOW this stuff. You know more than you think you do. Go with your GUT instinct.

The first time I took it I did all 265, and had a lot of infection control. Second time I went through about 150 something and honestly I don't remember much I was so scared haha. Good luck!!!:cat:

Thank you! Did you find Saunders questions to be easier than nclex

Thanks & Congratulations to you. What did you use to prepare on your second attempt

It's all about knowing your content. Saunders will teach you all the content you need to know in order to pass nclex. Her questions help you to retain content. If you have a good content base you will be able to answer any level of a difficult nclex question on the actual exam.

I used an app called NCLEX mastery.. Honestly I'm a horrible studier, I was that way all through school. So my "studying" was a few day before the exam doing practice questions :/ but that app is created by nurses that really care, if you email them they get right back to you. It has flash cards, questions, neumonics, and strategies. I highly recomend!
