Took NCLEX-RN twice already and failed though I've given my best, can't seem to pass their standards.. i've used Kaplan classroom and online plus their book, used the 5 week NCSBN review, PDA and Saunders.. Sill no luck! I feel like I'm just wasting money for retaking and paying all the fees again..
Now I feel so stuck coz I've been looking for jobs even just for a nurse aid so I can pay my fees on my own, but no one seems to hire me since I have no experience at all.. i've graduated BSN since last 2010 in the Philippines..I think I badly need a refresher course too.. HELP ME PLEASE ANYONE??? I am in Hawaii in Oahu right now.. i wish someone can accept my job applications, coz I'm always willing to learn and train if I need too..
And if anyone knows a refresher course in the island please let me know? How long will it take and how much would it cost..

It is so frustrating. What did you think of the reviews you used? What did you like? What did you not like? What areas were you weak on?
If you can't find a face to face refresher course, maybe an online one would work.
The PDA helped me a lot since it is a biggest part in the exam, i really have hard time in pharmacology since i graduated from phil. i am not familiar with the medications in US, i also had a below average mark on infection control..

I like the La Charity book for prioritization questions. Also those drugs are tough in themselves. I went over ending, and understood general classifications. Drugs are tough as each review may have different info. I for sure would go over most common drugs and their major side effects. For drugs, I also used the Feuer cd for pharm, but she includes drugs throughout her medsurg lecture. I also used Mosby's Illustrated little pocket book. I watched videos on youtube with each specific drug classification.

Back in 2009, I did the classroom kaplan course!! I thought the classroom was a waste of time--BUT I found the study bank questions excellent!! As well what was great was the course book--it covered everything. One can not buy the book at stores, but you can find it on EBAY. It has a purple cover, and on the front there is a pic of a gal from the neck down with a stethoscope around her neck!! Can usually be found for cheap--like $15!!
here is 1: Kaplan Nursing RN Course Book Preparation NCLEX RN Examination New Free SHIP | eBayor me the best way was just to sit down and do question after question!! And remember--some very imcompetent nurses pass the 1st time and soem of the great RN's have failed numerous times!! Keep trying
