Failed NCLEX, taking it again this week...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So I failed the NCLEX in July. I studied for about 1 month prior and completed the Kaplan program. Needless to say I didnt pass. I have been studying since then and have completed the Pearson program, an NCLEX preparation program out of a very large book, and gone back over the Kaplan program that I used previously. I am TERRIFIED. I feel like I have prepared well enough, but I am still feeling very unprepared for the actual test. I get average and above average on the tests but I am still feeling like I am going to pass out. This has been such a hard 45 days. I wish I felt confident and sure of myself going into this test for the second time. Does anyone else feel this way? Reading other peoples stories in these forums has really helped me a lot. Thanks!!

hello...took the nclex last august 16 and failed the 3rd time. i am so depressed but still i would want to retake again. we are on the same boat...

by the way, how do you reapply for the retesting? thanks.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that. It is such a blow to your confidence. I would definitely take it again. Working hard in school for 4 years doesnt allow me to quit. All you can do in the end is pick your head up and keep going. To register again, you have to send in your application, in my case to the florida board of nursing as well as register through pearson. It costs quite a bit each time. I do know that if you fail 3 times you have to take a course before you can take it for a fourth time. I wish you the best of luck and I know we will make it through this.

I am taking the test a third time in Oct which I have faith that this time Im going knowing that God has not brought me this far to leave me and you have to stay positive. I am using sticky at the top of the thread called New revised tip of Suzanne plan Ive heard good things about her plan. Check it out and dont give up.

I am sure you will do fine, normal reaction to feel a wreck prior retake especially NCLEX. Take some time the day before for me time and try to relax and not think about it. If you have studied well, which sounds like you have, just take your time and make sure you understand the question

Good luck

You have to convince yourself you did what you could to prepare and that will be it. You've got the Kaplan course under your belt along with other sources this time. What else can you do?

I've taken it once and failed. Comparing what was on NCLEX to what is out there to prepare I find nothing nails it. Most are great sources of info but NCLEX is just a beast.

What more can you do than take a few months to regroup then try again?

Quick somebody remember my response when I decide to take it again. LOL
