Failed the NCLEX!

Published

I can't begin to describe how devastated I am! For the past 2 days I have done nothing but cry and the worst part is I truly didn't think the test was that bad. I have never failed anything so this was a real awakening for me! I just feel so lost, and now I don't know what to do? :crying2::crying2::crying2:

For those who passed, what all did you study?

For those that failed, how do you move on?

This is what I did, I had 75 questions. I read through the med/surg section of NCLEX Saunders blue book. HESI review provided by the school for 3 eight hour classes and reread through that green book they gave us, was only like 180 pages. Read all the assignments in school. Did NCLEX software (4000, elsevier), around five 75 questions test daily for the three weeks before. Did evolve case studies again in the last month between nursing school and NCLEX. Listened to the Mesa CC block 2 nursing lectures while working. Read through Nursing Made Incredibly easy for NCLEX review. Focused on med/surg/fundamentals. Listened to some of the chapter reviews that Lewis med surg book has while working and driving. On the school library website we had streaming educational media so I watched some of those videos while working. I read through the candidate bulletin explaining how the NCLEX works and what they are testing, this was helpful because to me the test was very different then what I was given in nursing school. I studied a good 6-8 hours every day, luckily I work at home as a pharmacy technician so it was nice to listen to lectures, watch videos while I was working and multitask work and learning. Relaxed the day before the test, got up early, went to breakfast and took the test two hours before my scheduled appointment and took my time answering questions, not second guessing myself. Good luck on the future NCLEX exam.
