failed nclex a second time

hello everyone,

just want some advice on this. i failed the nclex for the second time. and have been very heart broken. i don't understand why i passed nurseing school but can't seem to pass the nclex. i feel mentally drained and a little sorry for myself :o . i really want this and it feels like its getting futher out of my reach. i graduated over a year ago. i thought i would be working by now. but right now i do need to work , but also study for the nclex. i need the money. anyway, i'm studying the saunders a i really like this book, but can anyone tell me a book that has questions like the nclex,. the nclex questions are different from what i'm studying . please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel your pain on the failing the NCLEX. I myself failed the first time and as we speak am sitting here waiting for my results to post for my second test. This time I went to the book store and bought the NCLEX book that is written by Pearson Vue. It comes with an interactive CD that gives you a CAT test just like the NCLEX. I found it very helpful! You might want to try that! I am sorry to hear of your disappointing news! But don't give up and keep your head up high![/quot

i actually found kaplan questions similar to nclex, but i also used saunders comprehensive review for content.

Hey. I am sorry that you didnt pass. I know that feeling. Let me just tell you that the nclex does not indicate how good of a nurse you'll be..its just testing your "critical thinking" skills. I honestly dont feel that the questions they ask you are any good. I dont see why a test asks you all these drug questions when you will always have access to a drug book. I never got that. But I do recommend trying the national state board of nursing council website. If you do www.learning.ext.com that is a good site to do. I also recommend the book "prioritizing, delegation and assignments" book. Very helpful. Also to get the 3500 questions cd from lippincott's or the springhouse version. Try doing about 150 questions/day. Thats why helped me.Hope this helps. Keep your chin up..I have faith. =)

i know how it feels. i didnt make it the first time i took nclex. but this time i change my strategy on studying. A few books and CD's helped me. I used FEUER CD which helped me a lot. Its a very good content review. I also used the saunders CD (though i dont have the review book), the medspub review book, and NCLEX made ez cd. Also the prioritization and delegation book was very helpful too. Good Luck. Study hard and think positive.
