Saint637- Don't give up!!!! Do what you need to do to make yourself feel better, NOW! For some that will be take a break for others it will be to get back on that horse, for me, it would have been chocolate and lots of it! Think about what you did to study and what you could have done differently. Did you do Suzanne's plan or something else? I did Kaplan and it worked for me, but I wouldn't neccesarily recommend that for you. There is another book on prioritization and delegation that people like, you could try that. Saunder's is great and so is Suzanne's 1st tip. I can't speak about her plan I didn't get the chance to try it.
........ It's like studying hard wont even work for the nclex, you'll still sit there thinking "what answer should I pick? I havent seen this before." I need help...I am even ashamed to hang out with all my friends who have just passed the Nclex, feels like "my failure is your ego booster.":crying2:
:crying2:
By the way, this is exactly how many of the questions felt for me. As to your friends..... they are your friends, and the NCLEX doesn't really test on how great a nurse you are, only how well you can figure out the questions. If they are any kind of friends at all, they will support you.
Good luck!
please read this link. california and licensure for both pn and rn
Saint637,
Just to give you some peace of mind, the BRN in CA had the day off yesterday because of Lincoln's birthday so we are lagging one day behind. I, too, took the nclex on the 10th and called to see if my paperwork was complete. I had to listen to a recording prior to being dispatched in. The recording stated that the BRN will be closed on the 12th (lincoln) and 16th (presidents day). So, don't give up hope yet. I'm thinking that Tuesday, the 17th, will be the official third day since you've taken the test. It is three business days from your test, not days. Expect your name on the BRN either tomorrow morning or wednesday morning.
good luck to you and keep your fingers crossed for me too.
The reason we are saying three days is because CA will usually post results within three days, pending complete paperwork and processed files. All my classmates that took their exams received results on the third day. Of course, there are outliers and circumstances that are exceptions but majority will know on the third day.
I took the NCLEX-RN on Monday, Feburary 9th, along with two other people and I know someone who took it the 10th also. Nobody has heard as of yet and I think the chances of all us failing is slim to none. Unbeknowst to me when I was scheduling my test I chose to take it on a holiday week so the wait has been torture. I know Thursday the BRN had off and also this coming Monday. Furthermore, last Friday was the first of the furlough days and some state offices are rotating the furloughs throughout the staff amongst all Fridays. Personally, if I worked at the BRN and had Thursday and Monday off I would probably take Friday off also to make for a nice long weekend. So all this working against the processing of things, so I really would not be concerned as of yet because it hasn't been more than 2 business days. Furthermore, the wait time in CA is 3-10 days so you are barely at the lower limit. I will keep you updated as should you.

Hi all, it's been 3 days since my testing date (Feb 10) and my name isnt on the BON site (last updated on feb 12). I'm starting to lose hope...its embarrassing because everyone I personally know (over 20+ ppl), has passed the first time...and for me to fail the first time... is just humiliating and hurts my self confidence and self esteem to the point where I am not motivated anymore. It's like studying hard wont even work for the nclex, you'll still sit there thinking "what answer should I pick? I havent seen this before." I need help...I am even ashamed to hang out with all my friends who have just passed the Nclex, feels like "my failure is your ego booster."
