Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello, I took my nclex monday at 2. I recieved all 205 questions(31 stat 5 exhibits 1 math). During the test i had anxiety and contractions as well (9 months pregnant). It was a little hard to focus. I was so upset i failed. All my classmates passed on the first try. I felt ready abd studied my butt off. Im not for sure where i went wrong.I have no idea where or how to begin studying. Im looking for any advice on what are good study materials such as questions (cant affotd kaplan or hurst)? Should i foucus more on questions or contents? What is a good book for stat questions? Good study schedule?. Materials i used were :Saunders nclex pn and nclex 3000

Thanks in advance!! ( Please not bashing).

Before formulating a study plan, you need to wait until you receive your CPR in the mail (Candidate Performance Report). It will spell out each of the domains of testing, and show you in which ones you were above, at/near, or below the passing standard. Armed with this information you can know what it is you need to work on.

When you have that in hand, come back and people will help :)

Thank you for your reply. I didn't know that nclex gave you a break on pass abd below questions. I know i kept getting alot of priority, delegation and infection control questions. I will be inn the look out for cpr in the mail.

No, you aren't getting a breakdown on what is an above or below passing standard QUESTION. You will receive a list of the domains of testing (areas of content/knowledge) and you are required to be above passing in each category of questioning in order to pass the exam.

Your list of domains will have the phrase "above the passing standard", "Near passing" or "below passing" next to each category. You will never know if any one question (if you can even remember any of them!) was above or below the passing standard.

You will learn, via the CPR, which CATEGORIES you need to work on. Those who pass the exam will not receive a CPR, as they have passed all the domains on the exam. Failing in one category means failing the exam, so....the breakdown is sent so you can formulate a new plan of study.
