ATTENTION!!!!! NURSING STUDENTS!! NEW GRADS!!!! ANYONE WHO HAS FAILED NCLEX!!! IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!!!!!!!
I graduated from nursing school in December of 2017. I receive my ATT to test January 6th 2018. I scheduled to take boards February 3rd 2018. I studied maybe 3-4 weeks before taking Nclex. I used Hurst and Kaplan. On February 3rd at 2pm ..I took my exam in Dallas, TX. I took 248 before my computer shut off. I tested from 2pm-8pm =6 hours with NO BREAK!!! Immediately after the test shut off, I knew without a shadow of doubt that I had failed Nclex! (WORST FEELING EVER!)
which brings me to today!
I took Nclex again for the second time today April 27th 2018 at 12pm. I finished at 2pm. I took 75 questions in 2 hours! I have to wait 48 hours for my quick results........
LISTEN!!!!!!! The first time around I used Hurst and Kaplan. Which cost ALOT of money, btw. Neither programs helped me much! From my experience, I wouldn't recommend them. (Disclaimer: there are people who swear by these two programs. Good for them) However, the second time around, I used UWORLD!!!!! And let me tell you....!!!! It is heaven sent!!!! Everything on the exam was soooooo familiar! U WORLD is basically a qbank of 2000+ questions. Each question has THE BEST rationales! U WORLD literally breaks everything done perfectly! They also have amazing pictures , to help you visual/ learn the information! You can even download the app and do questions on the go!!! However, I bought a notebook. I did every last question in the qbank by system (neuro, cardiac , endocrine , mental health, antepartum etc)! As I answered questions.. If I missed any question or if I didn't fully understand the question, I would write out the rationale and review them!
I don't know if I passed or failed but thanks to UWORLD ... I felt much more confident walking into NCLEX! It's literally a gift from God himself. And did I mention that UWORLD is cheaper?!?!?!?! Don't just do the question, actually understand the question and the rationale. UWORLD actually made the NCLEX seem easy ... (I'll confirm that statement once I receive my results lol)!!!
