Hello guys, i just have this problem right now that i have already taken the exam 3 times and still did not pass, I'm not that bummed out about it because i know that I'll reach my RN level soon. But my question is that if I will be retaking my NCLEX-RN Exam in New York, can i also apply for an NCLEX-LPN Exam? Or would i still need to take the LPN programs even though I'm a BSN Graduate?

And also could you give me some ideas on what to do? Do I just stick with the NCLEX-RN Exam and keep studying and retaking and hopefully passing? Or take the LPN route temporarily and see if I can pass and get a job as an LPN for a while? I know I'm not the only one who did not pass the NCLEX 3 times.

Yup I am i graduated from the Philippines 2 years ago

Same here,and same batch too:)

Stay with NCLEX RN. Do not waste your time to become an LVN unless you really have to produce an income.

Thanks for the info about the study materials!

And about what you said about taking the LPN, do i have to just take the exam? Or is that a whole new process thing? Like on the pearsonvue website do i just click the NCLEX-LPN and they will send me the ATT to take the LPN exam? I really have no idea.

Thanks a lot for posting and your support!

You need to apply for an LPN license so that NY will send an ATT for NCLEX-PN. Most states it's a whole new application. You need to review the NY board of nursing website.

just go for RN exam.. i passed my exam on my 4th try...don't give up and have faith to GOD..you can do it..god bless:saint:

I have the same questions too. But I'm not from NY. I'm from Chicago. I just took my 2nd NCLEX-RN retake yesterday. I ran out of time and I ended up with 222 questions. I had the feeling that I would have gone all the way to 265 again if I ended up having more time. Anyway, I tried the pearsonvue trick 3 times, and according to it, I didn't pass :( ...I was thinking that maybe I should try it again tomorrow because I took the exam Saturday, but I doubt the result would be different ...Anyway, I'm still planning to retake again, but I just have a question...does anyone know if an ADN graduate can take the NCLEX-PN here in Chicago? Am I qualified or do I need to be an LPN graduate?

Per Illinois BoN (IDFPR) "Each applicant shall file with the Division or the testing service designated by the Division a completed, signed application, on forms supplied by the Division, that includes:

1) proof of graduation from a licensed practical nursing education program that meets the requirements of Section 1300.230" so no you are not eligible if you did not complete an educational program in practical nursing. Full regulations are here. You could always call the board to confirm.

Thanks! Ill be looking more into the requirements of the LPN here in New York Ill also be calling their office tomorrow to see verify the information i got.
