Hello all,
I failed the hesi exit exam twice. I am so upset, but life goes on. It seems that a lot of students prefer the Saunders review nclex book. It seems like a LOT of information. I would like to like to know if you all just reviewed trhe questions and the rationales, or did you read every word. In addition too, how helpful were the hesi hint. Please help!!!!!!!!

Hey there! Many of my classmates failed the Hesi more than once. Don't give up! They have all now passed and are doing well. READ the book is the advice that once person gave (that had failed 3 times). Especially read the areas that were your weak points. Once she did this...she passed with flying colors. Good luck!

:angryfire I think that we should advocate for ourselves and the students who are following us. It it totally crazy to have your future ride on a test that is for diagnostic purposes and is nothing like the NCLEX as far as I can see. Hesi is good for showing you your weaknesses that's all. Just because you failed the Hesi does not mean that you will fail your NCLEX esp. if you are practicing questions. NCLEX review classes are nice for the NCLEX, the Hesi in my opinion is nothing like the NCLEX. My director suggested that I take an NCLEX review course that costs $400 and then come back to the school and pay $35.00 more dollars to take the Hesi. On top of that my NCLEX examination application has been processed since March I paid $275.00 for that and $75.00 for my fingerprints. What new grad has money to burn; this is BULL.
I am so sorry that you failed the HESI exam. I just want to let you know that you can do it. I just graduated from nursing school and we are required to take the hesi exit exam and score at least 850 or higher in order to graduate. I FAILED the hesi three times and finally passed it today with 1107 points (99.75%). The key to passing the hesi exam is doing a lot of practice questions. Saunders 3500 CD, the test taking strategies by anne silvestri, saunders comprehensive nclex review book did the magic for me. Believe it or not we had 4 chances to pass the test , I made 699 on the first test, 720 on the second test, 820 on the third and 1107 on the 4th test (thanks to saunders). You can do it, do not give up. Practice, practice, practice. You will be surprise how you just read a question and come up with the right answer without even looking at the options. One last thing if you bought the hesi book read the hint boxes do not even waste your time reading the entire book.

Hello All,
I am really depressed. I took the Hesi exit exam twice and failed:angryfire . I have one more chance to take it, but it is after graduation. I was not allowed to participate in the pinning. I will not be able to walk across the stage.(Graduation). My school is extremly strict regarding their requirements. Well, in order to complete the summer graduation I need to pass the Hesi. I am an average student and I feel like such a failure. I think that it is so unfair to be penalized this way. I feel that the NCLEX exam should be the predicator of ones' ablilities. Please, can anyone help me with study tips, etc..
Thanks,
Sunny
