Failed Hesi A2 Entrance Exam twice

Hello everyone,

I am feeling a little down today because I failed my entrance exam to the RN program for the second time. I now have to wait until December to take it again for the fall 2017 RN program. I have completed all the classes that are needed except the two I am in now, Microbiology and concepts of literature. The first go round I was getting a feel for the test and my overall score ended up a 73.71% and a 75 is required to be considered for admission. This is a let down to myself and I know I could of put in more effort to study but with a full time job and part time school time seems to get away from me. I know nursing is for me so after a long day of tears and failed feelings, I will just focus on getting the best grade I can in my classes. I will just work, save money and study to prepare for the test at the end of the year. I really just got on here to post this message to let others know it is ok and "if you don't succeed dust yourself off and try again". Thank you Aliyah for those encouraging words and R.I.P! But in all honesty it is not easy so make sure you pace yourself and just breathe. Thank you all for listening!

What did you use to study? There are several study guides you can purchase, plus there is an app called Hesi A2 pocket prep that was very helpful. Good luck!

I feel you but never give up! i took it three times going onto a fourth. First time I didn't even qualify and the last two times I didn't score high enough as I need to score in the 90% to get in my program. But I'm really determined, they gonna SEE ME.

Go the extra mile to get the other materials (not just the elsevier study guide) to study since you know what to expect from the exam. Like grammer books, reading comp workbooks, A&P books, math for nurses, apps, etc.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind when I take mines mid Summer. You were so close, don't give up. Pink Positive! You can do it. :)

I'm so glad you are not giving up. I took mine for the first time and fortunately. made a 93 overall grade. I feel so lucky and I was really really nervous before taking it. I also work full-time and go to school part-time and was unable to make time to study till a week before the exam. I wish you all the best and please don't give up.

Hey.. I feel your pain. I failed it 2x now.. So I won't be getting in for spring 17 at my school. I can't retake the test for 90 days. Which will give me plenty study time. The test is difficult. Keep your head up.. We can do it!!!

So sorry to hear that but don't give up! My sister took the HESI several times too. Did you take it for the third time and pass?
