I got accepted to URI and UmassD's RN to BS programs. I decided on URI. They require 6 nursing courses and some other core courses requirements. They want you to take 6 nursing courses. Intro to professional nursing practice, nursing research, nursing management, community/public health and the practicum, and adult health assessment. You also need nursing pharmacology.

Hi everyone,
My nursing school journey has been extremely rocky. I started off at Umass- Boston in their traditional BSN program right out of high school. I struggled tremendously with the program. I couldn't focus on my studies because I was working many hours because I didn't receive enough financial aid and got rejected for loans. Also, my dad had to undergo a major surgery and suffered complications from hepatitis C. Then one semester I was a victim of an armed robbery at work. I ended up failing 3 nursing classes. I appealed and was readmitted back in. I passed two classes when I retook them. The third one was fundamentals. I was doing well when I retook it until the third exam. My boyfriend was driving me to school for my exam when we got into a minor accident and I missed my exam. My professor did not allow me to retake this exam because I didn't notity her in a timely manner. She basically told me I had to get a 100% on the final in order for me to pass. I ended up getting an 81. She gave me a D and I was dismissed from the BSN program. I was completely bummed out especially since I was scoring in the 80s on 3 exams and if I was given a chance to do a make-up I would have most likely passed and would continued on with the BSN program. however I was dismissed and had to find another way.
I ended up applying for Quincy College's ADN program. Throughout this 2 year program I had terrible exam anxiety but I made it through and graduated in May 2015. My GPA wasn't great though. It's only a 2.55. In July I took the NCLEX and surpringly passed on my first try.
Now I am applying for jobs and RN to BSN programs. I really wanted to go back to UMB for their RN to BSN program but because I was dismissed previously, the admissions office said I need to find a different program because my GPA at UMB was most likely less than a 2.0 and I will not be considered. Now I am worried I will not be considered anywhere.
Sorry about this long post but I just wanted to know if anyone was ever dismissed from a BSN program, then graduated with an ADN and was accepted into an RN to BSN program? Seems like my past mistakes are coming back to bite me.
