FA' 2011- RCC ADN program?

Hello all,

I'm new too the site. Im interested in looking at RCC's (Roxbury Community College) ADN day program for FALL 2011.

Anyone here attend?

Just wanted to get a sense of how people liked or disliked the program.

Do all the pre-reqs need to be completed before applying?

I've heard in the informational that the TEAS scores are the most important, in the application process. Any advice on how to do well on the TEAS.

Any stories, experiences, advice or suggestions are welcome. :coollook:

Thanks!

Your pre-reqs need to be completed before applying; I can't remember exactly what the pre-reqs are, but A&P I is one of them. Those need to be finished, and they also very strongly recommend that the co-reqs are also complete, which include A&P II, micro, and human growth.

Regarding the TEAS, yeah they do look at those. A lot. From my understanding (I attended an information session this past fall), they basically take the top, like, thirty of so scores from the TEAS exam and admit those people. Other factors go into it (i.e. having some co-reqs finished), but it seems like they mostly look at the TEAS scores.

Good luck!

From talking with people in the program, I found that they agreed with getting as many courses (both nursing and college) out of the way before starting.

Thanks for your responses! Very much so appreciated.

Any idea of how many students the program accepts for the day program?

I'm really interested in going there. Are you in the program currently?

It's easier to get your questions answered oon this site than at an informational.

Thanks again!

I'm not in the program now, but I applied for the Spring 2011 program, so we'll see...

I believe they said that they accept about 30 students into the evening program. The day was a little more -- maybe about 35 or 40? I can't remember. They also said that they receive between 300 - 400 applicants per semester, though a lot of those applicants won't even be considered because they haven't done the pre-reqs, etc. It's definitely competitive.
