Relocating to Boston!
The areas you're looking at are most convenient to getting to Children's either by walking or public transit, yes. You could also try Newton, as it's on the D line (the same line that goes to Longwood). Those options would all be pretty expensive, however. Jamaica Plain is close, and you could take the 39 bus there (super easy, less than 20 min). If you open up your search to places on the Orange Line, you'd have additional, less expensive options. MASCO offers a free shuttle from the Ruggles stop on the orange line for longwood-area employees; the shuttle takes less than 10 min to get you to the hospital, but the actual commute on the subway would be longer, about 20 min or so. Towns on the orange line include Charlestown, Melrose, Medford---I'm not as familiar with those areas, but they're supposed to be pretty nice. Not like living IN the city, but good features on their own.

FA' 2011- RCC ADN program?
I'm not in the program now, but I applied for the Spring 2011 program, so we'll see... I believe they said that they accept about 30 students into the evening program. The day was a little more -- maybe about 35 or 40? I can't remember. They also said that they receive between 300 - 400 applicants per semester, though a lot of those applicants won't even be considered because they haven't done the pre-reqs, etc. It's definitely competitive.

I also applied for the part-time program, but I didn't get a letter confirming my application was received. I called the admissions office and spoke with a guy who said that they only sent out letters to those whose applications were incomplete. So who knows! But the person I spoke with said that we should hear "very soon"; he said they're trying to get the decision letters out by December.

Your pre-reqs need to be completed before applying; I can't remember exactly what the pre-reqs are, but A&P I is one of them. Those need to be finished, and they also very strongly recommend that the co-reqs are also complete, which include A&P II, micro, and human growth. Regarding the TEAS, yeah they do look at those. A lot. From my understanding (I attended an information session this past fall), they basically take the top, like, thirty of so scores from the TEAS exam and admit those people. Other factors go into it (i.e. having some co-reqs finished), but it seems like they mostly look at the TEAS scores. Good luck!
