TiffGG,
I just got accepted into my community college's nursing program and I ran into a problem with my classes and transcript as well. I was so nervous that I wouldn't be accepted into the program, but I was. I had 4 F's on my transcript due to a family circumstance that was out of my control. I retook all the classes and received A's the second time. so the F's were still on my transcript, but the A's were factored into my GPA. I brought my GPA up from a 1.9 to a 3.2
I would recommend that you take those classes over if you can. If you can get an A instead of a C that would be even better. I'm not sure about your school's requirements or policies for repeating classes, but I really recommend studying harder and achieving A's in those classes, especially the sciences. You probably go to a university right?
Yes I am at the University of Florida. After I graduate with my BA in Criminology I'm planning on getting my BSN in nursing, but their requirements are strict and it's very competitive. My overall GPA is like a 3.1, but my science GPA is like a 2.9-3.0. I'm most likely going to retake the classes and hope for the best! I just want to know if anyone else has ben in my situation and gotten into an accelerated nursing program. Thanks for your reply!
Hi,
I would recommend retaking them if you can. I don't see any reason why this would look bad on your application. I don't know how competitive nursing schools are in your area but where I am (NY) it's VERY competitive and students going nuts trying to get it. The higher your GPA -- the better your chances. Good luck! :)

So here's the unfortunate deal. I'm just about done with all my nursing pre-reqs., but I got 2Cs in Anatomy and Nutrition, and I might have to drop Physiology this semester and also retake it to avoid getting a C. The others were As and Bs. I want to retake the classes to get higher grades, but I don't know how retaking all those classes will affect my application! Once again, I didn't fail any classes, but Cs are failing in the nursing colleges' eyes. By the way, I'm applying to accelerated nursing programs. What do I do??!!
