Expired CNA license,& attend lpn school

Good morning

i was wondering if its a good idea to work as a cna while attending lpn school.

will it help with the class, i use to be a cna and my license expired. how can i renew, while attending class.

You need to contact the board that issued you your certification and follow what they tell you.

It is my understanding that you must re-take the exam. You do not have to re-take the course, just the exam and I am sure there is a small fee to do so, I can't believe it would be more than $20-$30.

Any type of experience is helpful, but not necessary to get through school. I worked as a CNA while in school and would practice assessments and stuff, but there weren't a whole lot of things I could practice because as a CNA we weren't allowed to do them. All the hands on practice we got during clinical, and there is actually more clinical time than classroom time at the school i went to.

Yes! by all means do renew your certification for CNA. When I was nursing student, I was able to work some days, and weekends. You still have bills to pay, and food to put on the table. Also, it's very helpful when it comes to doing assessments, and practicing vitals, and seeing treatments done. It looks good on your resume-more experience.:bugeyes:

Yes, needles are involved, as a LPN you give tons of injections. You do a lot treatments, assessments, medication passes, vital signs, you learn how to chart and document, you learn people skills and how to communicate with all members of the healthcare team.
