expired California NCLEX passing letter with no SSS number yet

Hi Everyone,

Can someone pls tell me what to do?

I'm a RN from the Philippines. I passed the California-NCLEX in 2007 and the letter said it will expire after 3 years of not submitting my SSS number which it did. Due to retrogression, all my US credentials had expired including my CGFNS VISASCREEN, IELTS, CGFNS QUALIFYING EXAM, NCLEX Passing letter.

After 7 years of waiting, now my priority date is current and I transferred to a new employer in Illinois, Chicago. I'm still here in the Philippines and my employer wants me to transfer my nclex from Cali to Chicago. How is it possible? what should I do to get a license in Chicago? What CGFNS could do to help me? I still didn't have my US SSS no. Would Ca BON would consider transferring my passing letter to Chicago instead of taking a new NCLEX again?

Please HELP me..I need to know from your own experience..

You need to check on the new BON requirements and probably speak to them. Usually CES will be required and CA do charge a small fee to transfer NCLEX results.

I'm curious if you don't have a SS# and your employer is telling you need to transfer your US RN license how are you able to work legally in the States? Is this being told by an agency to move your RN license to Chicago or by the actual US employer? Is this employer a hospital or ?

They do not have a license to transfer or endorse. They just have NCLEX results which CA will forward for a small fee.

I just want to ask from your experience if CES from other agency such as Morningside will be acknowledged by the Illinois state?coz it's quite cheaper than CES from CGFNS or do i still need to submit one? since i had passed the CGFNS CP, Visascreen (on renewal process), NCLEX ( transferring my passing letter).

How do i apply for licensure in Illinois?By examination or by endorsing a passing letter?I'm not sure which one would best suit my present case. Any additional information based on your experience would really be highly appreciated Ma'am.

Your report has to come from an approved company so if IL have it on their approved list then you can use them. If you have gone through CP and visascreen certificate CGFNS can use your documents where as going with a new company means that you have to start over again with the documents. Generally if you have no license to endorse then you apply by license by application and arrange for NCLEX results to be forwarded to the new state
