Experiences working at Brookdale hospital in BK ?

Aside from the dangerous(?) neighborhood and the problems with being in arrears with 1199 anyone have any experience working at Brookdale ? Ive heard not so great things about it. So whats the story?

:confused:hmm op.. either Brookdale nurses are ashamed to come out from behind the "curtain", or too busy working! Since no one has given you any info, here's my :twocents:. I did work at Brookdale in many areas. Yes, it was awhile ago..but I always felt safe and learned alot. It really is quite a shame what is going on with this institution these days. Personally I blame it on the privatization of hospitals and corps getting involved in health care that have no knowledge or concern for patient well being. All the major NYC hospitals are now just 2or 3 "health care groups". Back to Brookdale, the physicians get excellent training as they see everything. It is a great place to start your Nsg career, you will see it all. Nurses give excellent care, great camaraderie. Btw, it is settled now & 1199 has great benefits. I would work there again in a NY minute;).

Hey thanks for the heads up. I actually wound up not taking the position. Good to get someones point of view though.

I work at Brookdale and I could tell you I love working there. For anyone considering a career here don't listen to all the negative comments.
