I received my unofficial evaluation from EC this week, and there was an interesting note on the last page.
Currently, EC waives the Essentials of Nursing Care : Health Differences exam for LPNs / LVNs with current licenses.
HOWEVER, effective January 1, 2011, they will only waive this exam if you have taken the NCLEX-PN within the last 5 years.
If you've been thinking of enrolling, and have been putting it off, this is a good reason to git-er-done.

New people to EC would never notice this change. Thanks for pointing it out. People really do need to make their decisions sooner rather than later, because of policy changes like this and because the fees increase on a regular basis.
Another thought: How much more in test fees, when you remove the waiver for this test. A person who took the PN exam within the last five years is no different than someone who took it five years and two months previously.

Honestly, I am surprised that they waive it at all. 250 extra bucks per student really adds up and I doubt that any LPN would stop considering the program if they had to take the extra test.
