The best collection of notes I found were on the Yahoo group called nontradnurses.
They are in the files section and are organized by exam (NC-1, NC-2 and so on).
Regarding any source of notes, however, including the expensive published ones, do not trust something that doesn't sound right to you. Look it up! I probably learned the most from that--using http://www.google.com and searching on diagnostic terms got me quite a collection of very readable resources. I get bored easily and thus have trouble reading textbooks, but this method kept me glued to the computer for hours on end.
Good luck! It is well worth the time, effort and expense. (The notes described above are free, of course.)
Hi.. I just took the exam last week... I passed it, but was surprised that it had a lot on care plans and restraints... soo read up on those.

One thing that many Excelsior students pride themselves on, perhaps more so than students in "traditional" programs, is that we don't share exam content, even privately, even generally, and most certainly not in a public forum such as this.Hi.. Exam content changes, and the combination of numbers of exam questions on any particular subject also changes, so you really haven't helped anyone, really.
A word to the wise, all the popular boards (including this one) have members who are really Excelsior staff. They are paying attention. The last thing you want after working really hard to make the grade in a program as expensive and difficult as Excelsior's is to lose it all because of a violation of the honesty policy. (hint-hint)
Anything that students can share at best are generalities as there are several versions for each Excelsior exam. I think helping each other is admirable. in the end everyone has to pull their own weight. I will taking the CPNE in 3 months and believe me any tidbits of encouragement or person willing to critique my so far novice care plans is gold in my eyes. I do not want to be just a test passer. I will be an RN.
You are singing to the choir. For the entirety of the 3 months it took me to complete all seven exams, through the CPNE, past graduation and continuing today, I have been a moderator of the nontradnurses group, have personally tutored other students locally (in their homes, most recently for free), have been available by phone (and have been called upon) for exams and the CPNE both. Most people don't bother doing anything except for themselves.Anything that students can share at best are generalities as there are several versions for each Excelsior exam. Helping people is not telling them what was on your exam. Helping people, particularly in the case of the Excelsior nursing program, is about pointing them in the direction of where they can learn. Nowhere in anything I will have written or will write in the future is about "passing." It's about "learning."
Think of helping as the difference between "teaching a man to fish" as opposed to "giving a man a fish." As the old saying goes, the first way feeds him for a lifetime, the second only for a meal.
Just wanted to clarify where I stand.
It is interesting that you seem to be focusing on the "might get caught" aspect rather than the "do the right thing" aspect. You are being a little paranoid. On the excelsior website we help each other with certain things in the study guide and even one of the administrators tells us what is important to focus on with each one of the exams.Joy
Read the honesty policy again, the one you had to agree to follow to become an Excelsior student. I believe it says (basically) don't share with others what is on the exam.
Just a little advice from one who has been there--and who has arrived. You'll find your better nurses aren't the ones who do the right thing so they won't get caught, they are the ones who do the right thing because that is good nursing, and it is best for the client/patient.
Your patients will hope you are one of the better nurses.

Hi.
Does any one have any notes from Chipkalee's cyber studio or know of any sites of current/past Excelsior nursing students?
