Hi, I am an LVN considering Excelsior college and would love to hear from anyone who goes there. My friend who is an RN does not think I will get sufficient clinical time from thier program. Any comment would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
You don't get clinical time -- that is why the program is for people who are already healthcare providers. There is an intense, stressful, 2.5-day clinical exam for students at the end of the program -- the Clinical Performance in Nursing Exam (CPNE) -- and students get three attempts to pass it.
Hey thanks so much for your quick response. One more question if u get time, is it fully accredited?
Yes, NLNAC accredited. :) Check your state BON to make sure they recognize EC grads, too. Some states have issues:

yes Excelsior is fully acredited in most states but as Lunah said check your state.it is in ohio

Hi, all. I have a question. I am debating Excelsior for the LPN to RN program and wondered if I went on to be a NP, how would I do this through them with clinicals being a must for a NP. Any suggestion?

Also, clarify something for me. I thought Excelsior didn't use books, they only used study guides for their students. This is what i was told today when I called. Please clarify for me.
