Please toanyone that can answer this question. I am an excelsior grad in AR and I think employers are not as accepting as I would have hoped. One acutally told me to come back after I have 2 years as an RN , this was an entry level position. Can any of you tell me how you delt with this and how did you get clinical reference. Thanks

Thanks Mudwoman, I feel a little better, I completed mine April 21, 2008. More upset at lack of timely returns on my e-mails. But, I did look at my e-mails a moment ago and saw a message from EC saying they had mailed my form to the State a while ago and they are mailing another copy to my State.:yeah:

I actually graduate from excelsior in 2 days and I was hired at my first interview. I have 1.5 yrs experience in a LTC facility that is more like a sub-acute (pegs, trachs, ng tube, wounds, end of life, etc) The hiring nurse stated that she had several excelsior grads and is impressed with them. Make sure they know what your skills are. I think letting them know your nurse:pt ratio helps as well. Move on, I have met a few Rns that discounted my education as not as good as sitting in a classroom. Not everyone will be a fan.
