My Wife and I are about to start at Excelsior. I am looking for a bit of feedback on studying from those that have completed or are currently enrolled. I looked at the overwhelming material that excelsior recommends, and I also saw some study guides, like studygroup101.com.
What do you all recommend for optimal studying?
But are the exams still weighted like the nclx? Like if you miss one they give you another like it until you get it right? I took transition yesterday, couldnt really tell though.
No. As I said, it is not like the NCLEX. An adaptive test like the NCLEX logically cannot allow you to go back and change answers. For EC, you can flag questions and go back to them. Does that make sense the way I explained it? You can download either the content guide for the exam or the technical exam handbook from EC's website and it will explain their test methodology, but it is not like NCLEX, which is computerized adaptive testing (CAT).
How was the transitions test if you do not mind me asking? I am starting the nursing exams and that is the one I am attempting first. I am really looking for people I can stay in contact with that are going through this process as well to bounce ideas off of and support each other through it if anyone is interested, let me know!
Hi there
I too am taking transitions soon. Just starting the program as well. I have been using the content guide and study group 101 notes basically it covers 95% of everything content guide but some stuff I do look up via textbook. I just got word that the content guides are in process of changing so waiting for an updated copy as we speak!
