Excelsior Degrees for CRNA schools

Published

Does anyone know how CRNA schools look at RNs with degrees from Excelsior?

Anyone going that route? I'm thinking about going that route: getting both my ADN and BSN from Excelsior.

Thanks.

If CRNA school is as hard to get into as I hear, I doubt a CRNA school would take an Excelsior graduate over an RN from a brick and mortar school. I'd check into it before I put all my eggs in one basket. Might be better to go to a regular university if you want to go on to be an anesthetist.

Hi! I think you should post this question on the CRNA board. I'm sure you would get some reponses. There are many factors that the CRNA programs take into consideration for acceptance into their programs.

Actually, when I graduated with my BSN from Excelsior in 2001, there was a young man that was finishing up at the same time that had been accepted into a CRNA program upon his graduation. He had no problems. I can't remember his name but Hoolahan might (she also was there with me during our final clinical in Long Beach).
