How do I register for classes for RT to RN degree? i am new at this. I have been an RT FOR 12 years and have been thinking of the RN program for awhile Can anyone help me out?

If you're considering Excelsior College and you KNOW this program will work for you (your state will accept its degree), you first need to apply to the college and have your transcripts sent to them. You can check with your state's Board of Nursing or you can ask you advisor and he or she will let you know where you state stands with EC. From there, they will direct you after they've determined what courses you need to take in the general education components and the nursing components. It usually takes 30-60 days for them to complete an evaluation of your transcripts. Once you are accepted, enrollment is next. Your advisor will guide you every step of the way. Recently, they've made changes in that all exams have to be approved by an advisor before you take them once you're an enrolled student. Your path to an ASN will be no different from anyone else's (LPN, Paramedic, Military Medic). Good luck with the program!

Get on Excelsior's home page and click on "admissions". It is on the menu bar towards the top of the screen. That will take you to the next page where you can apply online. You may even want to call them first before you apply just to make sure their program is a good fit for you because there is an application fee. I am enrolled at EC and I love it! Good luck!

Also, your transcripts have to be sent directly from the school where they were earned. Excelsior and most all other colleges only consider transcripts to be official if they come directly from the originating source. You can still apply online if you choose, but they won't begin processing your application until it is 'complete' with official transcripts, copy of license, etc. Aside from the official transcripts, a phone call with an admissions advisor made the process easier since she provided a fax number where I could fax over credentials and the waiver acknowledging whatever additional requirements needed for my state.

So don't just apply online, be in the know by calling also.
