Hello,

looking for advice regarding the Excelsior College of Nursing LPN to RN degree. I just enrolled, and am looking for some "words of wisdom". Thanks, Marianne

any canadian are doing LPN-ADN from this college now? I need some advice

Hello Everyone!!!! I am confused about Excelsior??? They have nursing "online" courses available right now, for example, the Essentials of Nursing: Health Safety, which starts in May. Do I have to register for that course? Or can I just study, take practice exams and take the examination? The new ADN Pilot program is confusing me and I am not about to give $1k for each course.

Nevermind I found it. I was right.

Can you tell me what EC requires for math? I have my A&P's, micro, Chem, English, psych, ect... Just no math courses.

Specializes in geriatrics, hospice, private duty.

They will accept basic, intermediate, or college algebra. I highly recommend ALEKS for your math credit.

What is Alkes ?

What is ALEKS?

If you google it, you will get their website. They offer self-paced, online Math courses. I chose Beginning College Algebra, the first one on the 'ACE accredited' list. Excelsior accepted it... probably a good idea to double check with your adviser. Very inexpensive, and you should be able to complete it quickly! :)

Cool! Thanks for the info;)

Tempted to go this route for my Bridge.

How is it going?

Specializes in LTC, Rehab.

Just passed the CPNE but it took a second try ! Happy to moving on the NCLEX, and would just like to recommend that anyone taking this route beware and don't take the CPNE lightly. I would recommend taking the conferences offered by EC for documentation & careplanning and give yourself a solid three months of studying every procedure you could be assigned to do & knowing your "critical elements" without even having to look a "grid". Excelisor isn't easy for sure, especially when you get to the CPNE but it can be done. :-)

KitKatPRN, Im using Sheri Taylor's online workshop...do you think this is sufficient?
