Excelsior College LPN-RN program, and College Network

I was wondering if anyone here used just the college network books to complete the excelsior program? I have already paid money to use the services of cn and want to know if I should use other resources to complete the modules? I am nervous and excited about this journey, I just want a little advice :)

I have not used the college network, but I have researched it. I just wasn't able to afford it at the time. I am still wanting to complete my LVN-RN training, but it's so hard finding a program that will fit my needs as I have to work during the day. I had a friend that was doing the college network modules but I don't believe she ever finished it.

There are multiple threads in the Excelsior College forum and in this site in general regarding the college network.

While its enough for some, know that the college network is NOT affiliated with Excelsior.

You will have to apply and enroll in Excelsior on your own. Plus register for the exams yourself. Excelsior does not recommend using TCN.

Excelsior does provide exam content guides for free. Some are readily accessible other exams require that you are enrolled in the ASN program to gain access to the exam content guides. The content guides outline the exams and have a list of recommended resources.

I'd recommend downloading each exam content guide and comparing that to what's in the TCN modules. I used a couple of used TCN modules for a couple of the exams back when I was in EC's ADN program, and they covered much of the content but not everything. At the very least, I recommend supplementing your studies with the Excelsior practice exams -- they are excellent study tools. Welcome to the fun, and best of luck!

Excelsior has general study guides to go off of but I hear most people use Study Guide 101 for the bulk of their study material. It's super cheap and gives you all the material and practice tests you could ever want. No need to pay college network high prices, good luck!

I used college network study guide for microbiology bought from ebay. It was pretty good helped me understand different concepts alot easier because they simplified it in a way I could understand imo.
