Has anyone here graduated from Excelsior College and taken the NCLEX-RN and passed? Did you pass the first time ? Did you feel that the information you learned from Excelsior College really prepared you to take the NCLEX exam ? I graduated almost 4 years ago, and am studying Saunder's but find that half the material is completely new, and so have don't have alot of confidence going into the exam !! Thanks for listening !!

Most of the EC grads I know passed on the first try (especially the ones that hang out here at Allnurses, for one reason or another). Have you taken it before?

I passed, first try, 75 questions, 55 minutes. I do think the Excelsior exams helped a lot, when there seems like more than one right answer, etc... Same sort of format "chosing the best answer". I read the Kaplan book (bought the 2004 edition, even though I used it for the 2006 NCLEX, it was perfect.) It was great for helping to break down questions to deliniate the correct answer. Highly recommended!

Congratulations!
I'm halfway through the Excelsior exams.
Thanks for your support. This is my first (and hopefully last) attempt at this exam!

Hi! i just posted a thread almost identical to yours. I too am an Excelsior grad studying for the nclex-rn. Just recently, I attended the Kaplan program. I've got Saunders also. I'm in the middle of my studies.
Kaplan seems to have a good program with questions that are similar to those on the test, so I hear.
I wonder where all those Excelsior RNs are...I'd love to hear how they studied for this one and how they did. I've read many posts from those who need emotional support or congratulations...I guess that'll be our next post!
Excelsior RNs, we welcome your tips!!! :welcome:
