I had such a good first week! I was SO tired last night when I got home I just crashed. Feet are killing me, but I feel good! All the nurses have been so helpful and understanding. My preceptor is awesome. I have gotten to do 2 blood transfusions already! There have been a few overwhelming times when I get 4 or 5 things thrown at me at once, but that's understandable. I felt dumb a lot of the time, but again, understandable as a lot of it is new. The computer might be the death of me though :/

Is this the ally I'm thinking of? :)
Hey @sunshinedaisy, I'm starting orientation at the hills this week! I hope my first week goes as well as yours does!
Ohh, good luck! What floor?!

I'm so glad to read this. I start my first job mid-March and love hearing that people are liking it. Congrats on the new job :)
Good luck you two! I won't lie, I felt really dumb and overwhelmed a lot, but, like I said, the other nurses were right there to help! And I know I messed up giving report a few times, but my preceptor filled in what I forgot. SO much to learn! Prioritization is tough! I know it comes with experience, I'm just impatient. Second week starts tomorrow. I am nervous, but excited as well. Just pray my feet hold up!
Med surg but gladly I've already worked on this floor for a year and a half so I got a little know how already. I'm so pumped that you got oncology! I almost had a job doing couplet care in babyland but they took too long to hire.

Glad to know you're having a productive first week. I'm sure you'll keep learning more and soon you'll feel like more confident. It's hard to feel competent at a new job, and a first nursing job must be trying but I'm sure you'll do great.
Good luck. Keep us updated.

Thanks!
We do a lot of med surge on the floor as well, since we are the overflow for them, so I do get a lot of experience with random stuff! Got to see my first chemo pt yesterday! They sure do keep me busy. My preceptor just throws me in there!
